Team Update - A Word From Jenna 11/22/10
There is no other word to describe how I feel being back in the Dominican Republic other than "Wow." That's all that comes to mind. "Wow" to the fact that God let me come on this trip and provided for me the whole way, "wow" to how much the places we visited last October have changed in amazing ways, "wow" to how awesome all of the people we meet here are, and "wow" to how great this team is that God hand-picked to come here with me. Today was the first day of lessons, crafts and games at the deaf school. I get such a joy out of that place and those kids. I can't even begin to describe how much fun they are. There is no doubt a HUGE language barrier...well, two actually, but what little Spanish and Sign Language that I do know, God has used effectively. In one day I already feel like I'm getting better at both! It really is such an honor to work alongside the teachers at this school. They really have a passion for helping the kids learn and they love them like their own. I can see how they would. It's easy to fall in love with these kids. One of the most exciting parts is building on the relationships that I made last year when we came. The kids were so excited to have us come back. A piece of my heart will always be here with them in the Dominican Republic. Thank you to all of you back home who helped us get here, and who are supporting us now in prayer. I know I speak for the entire team when I say we really feel it and greatly appreciate it.
