Cambodia Team Update - 10/09/2011

Hey all!!!

We are coming to you from one very gorgeous country!! I believe I speak for everyone when I say we have been very deeply blessed and are touched by your prayers and support. I sincerely want to thank you all, our dear brothers and sisters in Jesus! :) This experience is faith developing and we are so stoked to be here!!
The center children are so affectionate! I marvel at the way they ban together and cling to each other. Don't be surprised if it wears off on us and we come back wanting to hold your hand and sit on your lap. Just kidding, but really they are very sweet.

Here is an update on the team's progress today. Dr. Robert is examining the children's teeth as I write. Tammy is our get-together collaborator, making sure we are on time and structured. Thanks Tammy! Cheyenne is teaching the kids simple praise songs that are all-around sweet to hear:) Michelle is a willing aid, teacher and some good entertainment! Vergie is our teacher for the bible studies(Noah's ark today), but will soon be Tammy, then Mike to follow up later this week. Brittany is singing, and teaching songs as well! The Walker family is helping the kids decorate hats and the lace they put on them is absolutely adorable. Bruce and I(Rissa) are in charge of the games. Today is a three legged race:). Its a lot of fun. Some do better than others, some fall in the mud together and its funny!

Well, that's about it. I haven't seen any monkeys yet. We did see an elephant though. And lots of water buffalo!! We went to one of the city markets, and let me tell you, the food is fresh!! One of the fish nearly flopped out its bucket of doom and startled my fellow traveler!! It was hilarious!! So yes, the food is freshly picked/butchered/still alive every day for their daily food. Nothing like Fry's...
Our daily devotion at night is an anticipated time to touch base with each other and sort of grasp where each others hearts are for the day. It's very needful and refreshing.

Again, thank you dearly for the prayer!

Thank you and God bless, signing out with Love,

Laurissa and the Cambodia team

Today's Prayer Request:

Please pray that we would be spirit filled in order to teach the Gospel and be good witnesses for Christ! Also pray that we would walk in the Spirit and not in our flesh. Ephesians 2:10 "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
