Alleviating Poverty

Alleviating poverty sounds romantic, even inspiring. When we think of all the monies spent in the USA alone on frivolous and selfish things, we often think of all the ways those same monies could "fix" social injustices around the world. However, would money alone fix poverty? Or would we need to get down and dirty and work alongside and together with those in poverty?

We must be careful to not separate "us" (the rich North Americans) and "them" (the poor majority world). We must all work together, learning from each other, to participate in alleviating poverty and advancing God's Kingdom.
